Central Coast Mariners have added one last attacking option from overseas to its squad ahead of the 2026-27 Ninja A-League Women season beginning on Saturday, signing 23-year-old American forward Morgan Witz most recently of NPL Women’s NSW side Sydney Olympic.
Witz arrived in Australia for the 2026 NPL campaign and quickly became one of Olympic’s leading attacking threats, with 11 league goals by Round 23. They included a spectacular long-range strike against Sydney Uni SFC in Round 16, and a four goal debut against NWS Spirit to set the tone.
The Temecula, California native won four straight league titles and a CIF state championship at Temecula Valley High School before moving into college soccer at California Baptist University. At CBU she was named to the Western Athletic Conference All-Freshman Team in 2021. In 2024, she led the Lancers with 10 assists and scored in the WAC Tournament final as the program claimed its first conference tournament title and first NCAA Tournament appearance.
Witz then transferred to LSU for 2025, becoming a regular in the Tigers’ attack during a record-breaking season that reached the SEC Championship match and the NCAA Sweet Sixteen for the first time in program history. She was also named to the 2025 SEC Soccer Community Service Team. LSU head coach Sian Hudson described her as an athletic, direct attacker who beats defenders and creates chances for teammates, qualities she now brings to the Coast.
Witz completes the Mariners’ pre-season recruitment as the final squad to head off to the season opener away to Brisbane Roar on Saturday 17 October is confirmed.
