Match Preview: Mariners looking to continue 100% home record

Central Coast Mariners Women face Western United at Our Paradise on Sunday, looking to continue a 100% home record in the Ninja A-League.

Emily Husband’s side suffered their first defeat of the season last time out against Brisbane Roar, but remain fifth in the table after a very strong start to the season.

At home, the Mariners opened the season with a stunning 3-1 win over Sydney FC and came from behind to defeat Canberra in Round Five.

Last time against Western

A strong performance in goal from Sarah Langman helped the Mariners to a solid goalless draw with Western in Round Two, with Chloe Logarzo and Catherine Zimmerman Western’s two most dangerous players going forward.

After a bright start and a couple of early chances, the hosts had more possession and some big opportunities but found Langman in inspired form as the Mariners held out for a point on the road.

🔎 Players to Watch

Newest signing Sarah Rowe says she can’t wait to play at Our Paradise and Mariners fans could see her in action for the first time this Sunday!

16-year-old star Tiana Fuller has grabbed all the headlines recently for the Mariners, scoring off the bench in her first two Ninja A-League matches, becoming the Mariners’ joint-top scorer from just 54 minutes of football.

Fuller netted her first professional goal just five minutes after coming on against Canberra, levelling the scores before we went on to win 2-1 in our last match at Our Paradise, before taking just eight minutes to score after being subbed on against Brisbane last weekend.
