Luke Wilkshire departs Central Coast Mariners

The Central Coast Mariners can announce that Head of Youth Development Luke Wilkshire will leave the club effective immediately.

Having joined the Mariners during the end of the 2022 FNSW League One season, the ex-Socceroo has led the Mariners NPL side through pre-season this year. He has taken charge of the team in our NPL Men’s campaign so far.

Wilkshire chose to leave after receiving an offer to be part of the Subway Young Socceroos as an assistant to Head Coach Trevor Morgan and Assistant Coach Brad Maloney for the AFC U-20 Asian Cup Uzbekistan 2023, to be contested in March.

“I would like to thank Richard Peil and the entire Central Coast Mariners for understanding in my decision to pursue this opportunity with the Young Socceroos,” Wilkshire said.

“I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at the Mariners and feel this is the next step in my development as a coach. I wish Rich, Monty and the whole Mariners family all the very best for the future.”

The Central Coast Mariners thank Luke for his time at the club and wish him well in his future endeavours.
