After a morale boosting win in Canberra for Ray Junna’s Youth League outfit, the Mariners come into round two full of confidence against their nearest rivals.
The Mariners Youth were forced to come from behind twice in their season-opening away outing against Canberra United. Thanks to goals by Josh Macdonald, Alec Vinci and the fortune of an own goal, our Youth team emerged 3-2 winners at the death.
On Saturday morning, they face the might of the Newcastle Jets Youth who will be eager to bounce back from their round 1, 2-0 defeat. Despite creating a number of chances throughout the game, the Jets Youth fell at home to Sydney FC Youth.
This Saturday our players will be visiting selected @maccas restaurants across the Coast in support of @RMHCAustralia who help put smiles on the faces of seriously ill children and their families.
