āTo be a professional footballer, the ability to accelerate and decelerate is critical. At the Mariners we are constantly asking players to accelerate and decelerate at their maximum.
Training at your maximum is critical to ensure that you get that extra 30 centimetres when it-s needed to win a ball in defence, or to score a goal to win the championship.
The ability to accelerate and decelerate sets a top professional footballer apart from his opponents.
