IT-S been a busy week or so on the Coast since the last Lawrie-s Lowdown.

We had our first major fans forum last Monday night and we had about 150 fans turn up at Mingara Recreation Club. The panel did a great job and I would like to thank Patrick, Hutch, Graham Arnold, Mayor of Wyong and Board Member Bob Graham and Chairman Peter Turnbull. They were open and honest and we managed to keep the microphone away from Patrick for large parts of the night as Josh Rose had sent a message for Patrick to have his own mic!

The fans interacted well and asked many good questions that were answered very honestly by the panel or by myself – I was the MC for the night. We want to interact more with our fans and this was a great start. We asked for six fans from the floor to make up a special fans committee to meet with the Club once a month to discuss how things are going at the Club and if the fans have any suggestions that the Club can take on board. We managed to collect the names of 20 people interested in getting involved which we believe is a super start.

I would also like to thank David Zdrilic and Alberto from SBS who covered the night. ‘Zdrila- did a great job as well as a story on Arnie and myself that featured on The World Game this week. We have embedded them below for you to watch. Brett Taylor from FourFourTwo online also covered the night. Thanks Brett!

The players and coaching staff were at Kariong on Tuesday night at their last Ausgrid Club Night for 2012. As usual the players and the kids had a great night. We would also like to thank the many Clubs who hosted us this season – their hospitality and support is what makes the Coast a special place.

At very late notice we confirmed on Friday afternoon that the team would travel to New Caledonia on Tuesday for five days. The squad Arnie has taken will play two games against the New Caledonian National team (one this afternoon, the other on Saturday).

Because of this we have had to change our pre-season match schedule slightly. Our game against Gladesville Spirit on Tuesday 21 August and the CCF select on 23 August have had to be cancelled although we have arranged to play against the CCF select at Bluetongue Stadium on Thursday 6 September. Kick-off is 7:00pm. It will be great for the fans and the local-based players who will represent CCF in the game.

We will try and keep you updated from New Caledonia throughout the week and don-t forget Daffodil Day is on next Friday 24 August. If you can spare some money, please give generously to this great cause which supports people with cancer in our community.
