CENTRAL Coast Mariners player Tom Rogic has been announced as the second nominee for the 2012/13 NAB Young Footballer of the Year Award.

Rogic was voted as the most outstanding U21 player for the month of November following standout performances in four matches.

The emerging star received his first national team call-up and debut for the Qantas Socceroos in the team-s 2-1 win over Korea Republic in Hwaseong.

Rogic was a standout for the Mariners in four rounds helping the team surge up the Hyundai A-League ladder.

In round 5, Rogic netted twice for Graham Arnold-s team as they thumped Sydney FC 7-2 at Bluetongue Stadium.

A week later, the skilful midfielder made the assist for Daniel McBreen-s winner as the yellow and navy defeated Wellington Phoenix 1-0 in New Zealand.

And in Hyundai A-League round 8, Rogic fired home a late winner as Central Coast secured their first ever win over Brisbane Roar at Bluetongue Stadium.

“The past month has not only been great for myself by for the club, the Mariners are sitting top of the table and we-ve had a few good results so hopefully we can keep building on that,” said Rogic.

“For myself, getting my first call-up to the national team was an amazing honour, and I feel very privileged and very grateful for the opportunity.”

“It was great to get my debut against Korea Republic and now to be here for the East Asian Cup qualifiers is even better.

“Tuggeranong United in Canberra, that-s where I grew up playing my first games on Saturday morning when I was a kid and it-s nice to be able to give something back to them.”

Tom Rogic is the second nominee for the annual award and is joined by Newcastle Jets midfielder Craig Goodwin and four other nominees to be in the running for the grand prize.

The overall winner will receive a $10,000 personal investment portfolio, a NAB Private Client Manager to assist with a range of banking and financial services, and the NAB Young Footballer of the Year Award.

To aid the development of future football stars NAB have generously donated a $3,000 equipment pack that will go to Tom-s chosen junior football club, Tuggeranong United Football Club in his hometown of Canberra.

Rogic and his Qantas Socceroos teammates tonight take on DPR Korea in their second EAFF East Asian Cup Qualifying match in Hong Kong.
