Central Coast Mariners Women have a trip to Western Australia to take on Perth Glory, as they look to return to winning ways in the Ninja A-League.
The Mariners’ strong start to the season which saw them unbeaten after five rounds has somewhat stuttered with back-to-back defeats against high-flying Brisbane Roar and Western United, but Emily Husband’s side are ready to go again and return to winning ways.
The Mariners sit seventh on the ladder with nine points (2W 3D 2L), with Perth sitting one place and one point below (2W 2L 3L).
Both of Glory’s wins have come at home, against Newcastle and Adelaide, respectively. They come into this game off the back of a 1-1 draw with Western Sydney Wanderers where they snatched a point on the road thanks to a 96th minute penalty.
⏮ Last time in Perth
The Mariners can take confidence from last season’s trip to Western Australia as we ran out 3-1 winners thanks to second half goals from Bianca Galic and Annalise Rasmussen.
After falling 1-0 down, the Mariners responded to equalise before half time before Galic’s Goal of the Season strike put us in front and our teenage forward rounded off the win.
The last time we faced Perth Glory in the Ninja A-League, Bianca Galic scored this rocket to win our Goal of the Season! 🚀

🔎 Players to Watch
Rasmussen’s goal in Perth last season was her third of the season, coming in Round 17. Last time out against Western, her consolation goal saw her equal that tally with just seven games played this term.
The 19-year-old seems to have cemented a starting spot this season after playing most of last season off the bench, she will be looking to continue repaying Emily Husband’s faith with another goal against Perth on Friday evening.
Husband also has a new signing available after adding former Young Matilda Greta Kraszula to the squad for the remainder of the 2024/25 Ninja A-League season, with the 22-year-old bolstering her midfield options.
