Kye Rowles big winner at Mariners Medal Dinner

Kye Rowles has continued his amazing end to the 2021/22 season collecting numerous awards from the 2022 Mariners Medal Dinner Awards.

Held at Drifters Wharf in Gosford, the Marinersā€™ night of nights concluded the 2021/22 Isuzu UTE A-League Season where the Mariners celebrated the achievements of Nick Montgomeryā€™s squad where they secured a finals berth for the second consecutive season and matched last yearā€™s impressive points tally, scoring more goals in the process.

The evening kicked off with a recap of all goals scored which included a historic run to the FFA Cup Final, where a narrow loss to Melbourne Victory was the difference between cup heartache and jubilation.

Daniel McBreen, former Mariners Golden Boot winner was the MC alongside Gabby Bowles and they enjoyed reminiscing on the season that was where McBreen often commentated on many of the Central Coastā€™s matches with Network Ten and Paramount+.

The Mariners Medal is decided by a culmination of the Fanā€™s Player of the Season, Playerā€™s Player of the Season, and Coachā€™s Award and this yearā€™s Mariners Medal went to the impressive Kye Rowles.

Rowles won last yearā€™s honour and went from strength to strength this season, which included playing 90 minutes against FC Barcelona in the A-League All Stars and gaining his first cap for the Socceroos against Jordan.

Kye picked up the award after being voted by his peers as Playerā€™s Player, as well as getting the recognition from Nick Montgomery for Coachā€™s Award.

The Centre-Back recorded a message from Socceroos camp in Doha less than 48 hours after his first cap and spoke about the experience this season.

ā€œIā€™ve really enjoyed my football this season and to get the recognition from my team-mates is surreal.

ā€œI still canā€™t believe how the back-end of this season has played out, itā€™s just nuts. From playing Barcelona to now making my Socceroos cap, I still canā€™t believe it.

ā€œI really want to thank the boys that Iā€™ve played with as without you this would not be possible.ā€

The Mariners would like to thank all that attended the Mariners Medal Dinner.
