Goalkeeper Danny Vukovic is the Mariners captain, having been handed the role from Central Coast legend Matt Simon. The 37-year-old is an A-League legend and current Socceroo, having first made his debut in the league for the Mariners in 2005.

This came after stints in the NSL with Parramatta Power and Bonnyrigg White Eagles, playing on the Coast until 2010. Contracts at Konyaspor, Wellington Phoenix, Perth Glory and Melbourne Victory followed, before the shot-stopper signed with Sydney FC.

He secured an A-League championship and a move to Belgium club Genk off the back of a standout 2016/17 season in Sydney, playing Europa League and winning a league championship while overseas.

After a brief spell with Eredivisie club NEC Nijmegen, Vukovic returned home to the Mariners at the beginning of the 2022/23 season.
