The Central Coast Mariners are proud to announce that Woodport Early Learning Centre were the WINNERS of our Move like a Mariner prize-draw who enjoyed a visit from the full Mariners’ squad.
In collaboration with Central Coast Local Health District and Pinnacle, the Central Coast Mariners are playing a major role in educating pre-school children the importance of physical activity.
Thanks to funding partner, Pinnacle, the joint collaboration was rolled out at 34 early childhood education and care services to approx. 2000 children.
The six-week ‘Move like a Mariner’ physical activity program encourages educators and children in early childhood education and care settings to participate in intentional fundamental movement skills every day! Better yet, all children who participate receive a certificate and goodie bag from the Mariners. Every centre who participated went into the draw to win a FULL TEAM visit from the Mariners playing squad.
‘Move like a Mariner’ is administered in parallel with the NSW Health ‘Munch & Move’ initiative that promotes the importance of healthy eating and physical activity for young children.
In a day to be remembered for Woodport Early Learning Centre, the full Central Coast Mariners squad stopped by to say thank you to the kids and show them in person what it’s like to Move like a Mariner!
