Central Coast Mariners goalkeeper has been rewarded for another standout season in the Yellow and Navy, by being called in to Pim Verbeek-s Qantas Socceroos squad for next Wednesday-s AFC Asian Cup qualifier against Indonesia at Suncorp Stadium.
Vukovic will join Adelaide United and the Hyundai A-League-s goalkeeper of the year Eugene Galekovic, and Sydney FC custodian Clint Bolton in the 25 man squad, while Perth Glory striker Daniel McBreen, to be wearing Mariners colours from next season, has also been included.
Vukovic is in line to make his debut appearance for the National side, having previously sat on the bench three times, most recently in an AFC Asian Cup qualifier against Kuwait back in January.
“I always love being involved in Socceroo camps,” said Vukovic.
“It-s just another great opportunity for me to gain more experience working with not only Eugene and Clint, but also working under (Socceroos goalkeeping coach) Tony Franken, and I will be fighting hard in camp to win the number one spot for Wednesday.”
