DYNAMIC Central Coast Mariners duo Mathew Ryan and Tomas Rogic are currently in Hong Kong with the Qantas Socceroos squad as they bid to qualify for the 2013 EAFF East Asian Cup.
The 2013 EAFF East Asian Cup will be held in Korea Republic next July.
Last night Holger Osieck-s team played their first match of the tournament against hosts Hong Kong, with Sydney FC-s Brett Emerton netting a late winner as the green and gold won 1-0.
Rogic entered the fray at the Mong Kok Stadium in the 81st minute in place of Melbourne Heart-s Richard Garcia.
Although only on the field for a short period of time, Rogic showed his attacking intent as Osieck-s men defeated their determined rivals.
Central Coast Mariners custodian Mathew Ryan remained on the bench for the Qantas Socceroos throughout the match, however can perhaps expect to make his senior men-s national team bow when Australia plays their second match of the qualifying tournament against DPR Korea tomorrow night.
All of Australia-s games at the EAFF East Asian Cup qualifying tournament are being shown live on The World Game website (www.theworldgame.com.au).
