#UniteForTheCoast – Liam Reddy

Having played for four other Hyundai A-League clubs, and experienced professional football in Iran, Liam Reddy has lived in many locations throughout his successful career.

From Newcastle to Brisbane, Wellington to Sydney, and Tehran, the 33-year-old gloveman has moved his family about as his career has taken various twists and turns.

Now in his second season on the Central Coast, Reddy has quickly developed a passion for the region.

And not only has he proven to be one of the competitionā€™s top shot-stoppers during his time with the Mariners, but his family are also loving life in the area.

ā€œThe Central Coast is just a great place to bring up your family,ā€ Reddy said. ā€œItā€™s nice and relaxed, itā€™s a great community, and it didnā€™t take long for us to make friends out of football, which is really important.ā€

ā€œWe like that you can always duck down to the beach, whether itā€™s Macmasters, Terrigal or Avoca, and not have to fight for parking.ā€

Reddy is contracted to the Mariners for this season and next, and while goalkeepers tend to play on longer than outfield players, he acknowledges that his time as a professional custodian is slowly winding down.

Remaining or returning to the Coast and being a part of the ā€œgreat communityā€ when his professional playing days come to an end is something the Reddy family are actively considering.

ā€œWeā€™ve discussed that,ā€ Reddy, originally from Sydney, said regarding staying in the region. ā€œI am coming to the end of my career and this is definitely somewhere we could end up living.ā€

ā€œThe kids love their school here, theyā€™re at Kincumber Public School, and myself and my wife love living in the community, so the Coast is definitely somewhere that we could live post football.ā€

Since joining the Mariners, Liam Reddy has become a firm favourite with Mariners fans for his performances on the field, and his affable approach off it.

But he and his family have also taken time to #UniteForTheCoast by integrating themselves in the community, and appreciating all that the area has to offer.
