It was a magical night at Central Coast Stadium on Wednesday, as Matt Simon celebrated his 200th Mariners A-League appearance and the hosts came from 2-0 down to win 3-2 against Melbourne City.
Goals in the first half hour to Adrian Luna and Jamie Maclaren had City crusing, before Simon played a part in Jaden Casella’s first A-League goal to cut the deficit at half-time.
Simon then won and converted a second half penalty before Daniel DeSilva scored the winner to ensure it was a special night all round on the Coast.
The Mariners have turned it around in style – what a strike from De Silva! Something special is starting up in Gosford this season… #CCMvMCY #ALeague

There were plenty of celebrations post-game as Simon embraced family and friends, with plenty of A-League fans online warming to the sight of Simon and his children following an emotional post-match interview.
? "The shaka is a 'mahalo' to my daughter. Hopefully I can keep scoring goals so I can keep waving to her."
