Central Coast Mariners will return to Gosford’s idyllic bayside arena for their first match of Hyundai A-League season 10 this Saturday 11 October. Kick-off is at 5:00pm.
The yellow and navy’s opening clash of their 2014/15 campaign is set to be a blockbuster, with #F3Derby foes Newcastle Jets – and ex-Mariner Marcos Flores – arriving at Central Coast Stadium.
The Mariners dominated the Jets on the banks of the Brisbane Water last season – the teams met twice with Central Coast outclassing Newcastle 3-0 and 3-1 respectively.
Classic goals from Anthony Caceres and Daniel McBreen (round 16) and Eddy Bosnar (round 23) provided the highlights last term, however Bosnar’s first minute effort from long-range was indeed assisted by some shambolic goalkeeping from Jets custodian Mark Birighitti.
Saturday’s game is the only #F3Derby meeting between the Mariners and Jets in Gosford this Hyundai A-League regular season, so fans are encouraged not to miss what is expected to be an intense, committed, and entertaining affair.
Central Coast Mariners will be represented at Tuesday’s Hyundai A-League 2014/15 Launch in Sydney by Head Coach Phil Moss, captain John Hutchinson, and new Senegalese striker Malick Mané.
