The Central Coast Mariners Academy PS4 NPL 2 Round 22 fixture against the Western Sydney Wanderers Academy has been rescheduled and will be played on Thursday August 17 at Valentine Sports Park.
Strikes from Duncan Stewart and Brenton Fox saw the Central Coast Mariners Academy overcome the Mount Druitt Town Rangers 2-1 last Saturday night.
The win saw the Academy jump into 6th position on 34 points, level on points with North Shore Mariners and Mounties Wanderers, but ahead on the ladder thanks to an outstanding goal difference.
This Thursday, the Mariners Academy will face the Western Sydney Wanderers Academy in a rescheduled and crucial fixture.
Last round, the Wanderers fought out a 1-1 draw with Westfield FFA Cup round of 16 entrants, Bankstown Berries, but have been unbeaten in their last three, defeating St.George in the process.
This Thursday’s fixture serves as a huge game going into the final rounds. Wanderers Academy sit in 4th position on 35 points, just one ahead of the Mariners Academy. A win could see them leapfrog Northern Tigers into third, where the Central Coast win would sit on level points with Northern Tigers but go ahead on goal difference.
Note: The Central Coast Mariners Academy would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused to players and supporters due to the change of location of these fixtures.
