Central Coast Mariners goalkeeper Andrew Redmayne will leave the club at the end of the season to link up with Brisbane Roar.
Redmayne, a local junior, has been the understudy to Qantas Socceroos squad member Danny Vukovic for the last three seasons, and will move north of the border in search of regular first team football.
The 21-year-old goalkeeper has played just three matches, one of those as a substitute, since joining the club prior to the 2007 Pre-Season Cup tournament.
“I was excited by the new challenge of a new place, but also the opportunity to play first team football.
“I-m a Coast boy and I-d like to thank everyone at the club for giving me an opportunity, but I-m looking forward to stepping out of my comfort zone,” said Redmayne.
Redmayne will remain at the Mariners until the conclusion of the Hyundai A-League 2009/10 season.
The Mariners- next home match of the Hyundai A-League 2009/10 season will be against Gold Coast United on Friday, 22 January. Kick-off is at 8:00pm. Tickets are available online here or by phoning 132 849.
