Central Coast Mariners FC are in search of an enthusiastic physiotherapist who is passionate and committed to working in a professional sporting environment. 

Job Title: Head Physiotherapist Senior Men’s Academy/ALM Assistant Physiotherapist 

Job Description

Head Physiotherapist for Academy Men 1st/20’s (HPAM) / Head of Medical for the junior academy who’s primary duty is to provide best practice physiotherapy services to the Central Coast Mariners NYL/NPL teams, and to also provide assistance and support to the physiotherapy department of the A League Men’s side. 

This includes, but is not limited to:

a) Provision of physiotherapy services on a daily basis to football players associated with the Central Coast Mariners, primarily the NYL/NPL’s 1st 20’s team, but including players from other age tiers and leagues as directed by CCM (Players);

b) Provision of daily functional, strength & conditioning and injury prevention training, programming and related services to Players, including provision of rehabilitation programs utilizing software prescribed by CCM (for example, iOSbased applications);

c) Assistance to other CCM employees in the fulfilment of their duties, insofar as it relates to physiotherapy and/or strength & conditioning training (including, without limitation, providing support and secondary opinions for A-League Players);

d) Attendance at training sessions (daily for NYL/NPL and once early in the week for Youth Boys), as well as attendance at all matches for NYL/NPL (including, without limitation, all NPL 20’s and 1st Team games), in order to provide physiotherapy services if required and to asses, treat, oversee and record any injuries and corresponding recovery progress (however, for the avoidance of doubt, attendance at weekend matches for 13’s to 18’s will not ordinarily be required);

e) Employ, oversee the work and performance of sports trainers and interns involved with CCM’s Youth Boys program;

f) Provide reports, information and advice to CCM employees in relation to the training, injuries and other health-related conditions of football players, including attendance at meetings and provision of written reports, as required;

g) Assist in the development, implementation & coordination of all pre-season medical screening programs, in collaboration with CCM’s head physiotherapist for NYL/NPL;

h) Undertake ongoing, continuous monitoring, reporting & treatment of all player injuries, physical conditions, actual or suspected concussions and all other matters of a physiological or medical nature, as directed by the Club, in relation to Players (including, without limitation, referral of problematic injuries to third party external physiotherapists and other medical service providers consistent with CCM policies & direction);

i) Preparation and submission of injury reports as required & prescribed by football governing bodies;

j) Monitor, analyse and provide advice and/or programs in response to player workload data, with a view to minimizing injury risk and maintain best health for Players;

k) Comply with, and take all reasonable steps to ensure CCM complies with, all governing body prescribed regulations & codes, including (without limitation) FA’s concussion protocol, FA’s sport supplements and medications protocol, and the FFA Code of Conduct; and 21 AAW-344720-5-219-V1

l) Such other duties, tasks and responsibilities prescribed by the CCM from time to time, consistent with the role of a HPAM.

Qualifications and Experience required:

– Undergraduate/Post Graduate degree of Physiotherapy or equivalent (minimum 2-3yrs experience) 
– AHPRA registered 
– Current First Aid and CPR certificates
– Professional Indemnity Insurance 
– Highly driven and committed 
– Strong communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment 
– Ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external groups and stakeholders. 
– Current Working with Children Check (paid) 
– Current Driver’s License 
– Current right to work in Australia
