Over 4000 meals donated: Mariners X Masterfoods Meals for Goals

With 43 home goals scored at Our Paradise this season, Central Coast Mariners have helped deliver over 4000 meals to those in need.

At the start of the 2023/24 campaign, the Mariners partnered with much-loved Australian brand MasterFoods and leading local charity Coast Shelter, to create the MasterFoods Meals for Goals initiative, that agreed 100 meals would be donated for every home goal scored by the Central Coast Mariners during the 23/24 Isuzu UTE A-League and Liberty A-League seasons.

With one game of the regular season remaining, the total stands at 43 home goals thanks to 25 from our Isuzu UTE A-League team, 13 from our Liberty A-League team and an additional five from MasterFoods’ half time challenge during our double header against Brisbane Roar.

With our Women’s team qualifying for Finals Football in their return season to the competition and our Men in the hunt for historic treble, every single goal has not only contributed to a memorable season but to a hugely important cause as well.

Masterfoods agreed to donate $800 dollars, the equivalent of 100 meals through Coast Shelter, so our total currently stands at 4300 meals delivered at a value of $34,400.

The first goal of the campaign was scored by Brian Kaltak in our first Isuzu UTE A-League home match of the season, and Rola Badawiya scored the historic first home goal back in the competition for our Women’s side.

The match with the biggest contribution was our Isuzu UTE A-League home match against Western United on December 3rd, as a clinical display saw the Mariners put four past John Aloisi’s side, who they come up against again this weekend in Tarneit.

The highest individual contributors have been Angel Torres who has netted six of his 13 A-League goals this season at Our Paradise, followed by Badawiya who has scored five of her seven in total at home.

Our final chance to add to the 4300 meals already secured, is on Sunday 21st of April as we take on Adelaide United in the penultimate game of our regular A-League season. You can purchase your tickets HERE!
