The Central Coast Mariners Academy men’s and women’s teams have both emerged as convincing winners on Sunday afternoon, recording 3-0 and 5-0 wins respectively.

Central Coast Mariners Academy Women 5 (Phelan 27’, 39’, 47’ & 73’, Litterick 41’) vs. Inter Lions SC Women 0

Goal-machine, Candice Phelan was in fine goal scoring fashion who bagged four goals against Inter Lions SC to take her season tally to an incredible 35 goals in 18 games.

Phelan’s four-goal haul was complimented by a first half strike to Kirby Litterick for the Yellow & Navy outfit who proved to be too much of a task for the Inter Lions.

The result sees the Mariners remain in striking distance from the top on both the first-grade league ladder and Club Championship where our girls are placed second.

Parramatta FC 0 Central Coast Mariners Academy 3 (Peters 27’, Johnson 70’ & William 81’)

The senior men’s teams completed a clean sweep of Parramatta FC thanks to first grade strikes by Emmanuel Peters, Kyle Johnson & Charles William.

The Mariners’ Academy top goal scorer, Mani Peters opened the scoring for the second week in a row when he seized the ball in the box before firing past the keeper.

It was 1-0 at the break but Kyle Johnson doubled the Mariners lead in sensational fashion when he pulled the trigger on a free-kick from 25-yards-out that flew into the top corner.

Charles William put the result beyond doubt when he dispatched a one-on-one opportunity in the final 10 minutes of play to make it 3-0.

Our senior men remain in second place on the first-grade league ladder and first place in the Club Championship ahead of this weekend’s clash against the Western Sydney Wanderers Academy.
