This weekend of NPL action sees the in form Women’s Academy host top of the table APIA Leichhardt this Sunday at Pluim Park whilst the men are on the road to take on Macarthur Rams.

The two inform sides of NPL 2 go head to head on Sunday afternoon as the academy girls welcome top of the table APIA Leichhardt to Pluim.
After last week’s resounding victory, Dan Barrett’s girls know that one more win could all but secure a place in the top five. The women have been sensational for the past two months, with only one loss since May. The spotlight this season has been on Danielle Wise, with her incredible 23 goals in 19 games including eight in her last four games, has her placed just behind APIA striker Ashleigh Palombi on the goalscoring chart. Jade Mcatamney, Gabrielle Blanch and Mikala Tucker are also looking to hit double digits before the end of the season.
APIA Leichhardt have been consistent this season and with only one defeat, find themselves on top of the ladder. The side are also on an impressive four game winning streak too, with 25 goals scored and only 3 conceded. Ashleigh Palombi and Georgia Bridges are the two dangers APIA carry with 45 goals between the two players.
It promises to be a feisty encounter on Sunday with both sides looking to continue their good form. APIA ran out 5-0 victors in May, however, Dan Barrett will be looking to bounce back.

Macarthur Rams vs. Central Coast Mariners Academy
Nick Montgomery’s men find themselves back on the road for the first time in four weeks as they travel to take on Macarthur Rams.
With finals football in sight, the Men’s Academy will be hoping this away trip turns their fortunes around. The men have been more successful whilst away from home and know with six games to go three points is crucial. Dylan Ruiz-Diaz and Jordan Smylie are joint top goal scorers for the academy this season with seven.
It has been a frustrating season for Macarthur, with the side struggling to find consistency. The Rams, who sit in eleventh place, are currently winless in nine games and have struggled to find the . Macarthur will be wanting the home ground advantage to change their fortunes come Saturday night.
The Men’s Academy will be seeking the double over Macarthur, after an impressive 4-0 victory on Easter Sunday. Dylan Ruiz-Diaz netted a hattrick that afternoon.
