Pluim Park will be hosting both academy sides this Sunday afternoon as the academy women take on Nepean FC while the men’s academy play St George City FA.
Central Coast Mariners Academy Women vs. Nepean FC
This game is the first of three consecutive home games for the academy girls as they battle for the top five in the NPL 2. This fixture promises to be an entertaining game as both sides head into this clash in fantastic form.
After a draw last week to SD Raiders, Dan Barrett’s side will be wanting to get back to winning ways as they return to Pluim Park. The experience of Danielle Wise and Gabrielle Blanch will be key to this weekends game as a confident Nepean outfit will be a difficult challenge. The women only sit one point outside the top five while also currently six games undefeated in the NPL 2. Pluim Park has been a fortress for the academy girls this season, winning 5 out of 6 games this year.
Nepean FC are currently on a seven-game winning streak and are riding a huge wave of form which have the side sitting in fourth spot. They defeated top of the league Gladesville last week and will be wanting to continue where they left off at Pluim Park. Stefanie Trovato is the woman to watch out for as she has netted two goals in her last three games.
The girls will want to get payback on Nepean FC after their earlier meeting in the season which saw Nepean grab a 1-0 victory.
Last week’s academy side: Gabrielle Blanch, Nina Collins, Jordyn Drysdale, Rhiannon Hines, Jade Mcatamney, Brooke Miller, Kaitlin Murphy, Elizabeth Shorter, Iona Snape, Mikala Tucker, Danielle Wise

As the battle for the finals heats up, the academy boys will be wanting to make a late push for a place in the top six.

Nick Montgomery will be looking at top scorers Jordan Smylie and Dylan Ruiz-Diaz to get the young academy side back to winning ways. The men sit eighth on the table just one point away from sixth place Northern Tigers FC.
St George City FA have won three in their last five games and are coming off a 3-2 victory over Rydalmere Lions. The squad has been boosted with the experience of Steve Kuzmanovski who will be a big threat come Sunday’s game. City currently sit tenth on the table, but their form suggests their still in a chance for a finals place.
The reverse fixture earlier in the season saw St George City grab all three points in a 4-0 win.
