Noah Smith joins the Mariners ranks for 2021/22

Noah Smith Signs

Central Coast Mariners are pleased to announce the signing of Noah Smith who has made the swap from Adelaide United to the Central Coast Mariners, following on from a highly successful breakthrough A-League season.

Smith made his A-League debut against the Mariners in 2020 and became a first-choice starter at the beginning of last season.

The 20-year-old is a skilful left back and received praise from pundits following his performances under the tutelage of Carl Veart, for Adelaide United last season.

He joins the Mariners on a one-year deal and is keen to help us improve on last season’s form under new boss, Nick Montgomery.

“I am really excited about joining the Mariners this year as they have a great culture and identity.”

“I can’t wait to meet the boys and get stuck into preseason” Smith said.

“I am thankful for the opportunity Mariners are giving me and I’m ready to help the team continue to achieve success.”

Head Coach Nick Montgomery highlighted his character after picking up an injury that ruled him out for a large portion of the season.

“He is a young player with a great personality, and he will create competition for spots here.”

“I think he was very good prior to injury at Adelaide, and I have no doubt that he will prove a very good signing for us” he said.

Mariners Head of Football Ken Schembri spoke of the potential that Smith has in his locker.

“We saw what he can do last season and kept him on our radar.”

“We are really keen to get Noah into pre-season, as we believe he will blend in well with our current squad members and develop into one of the competitions’ best left backs” said Schembri.

Smith is Head Coach Nick Montgomery’s second new signing after securing the signature of Nicolai Müller earlier this week.
