Club Captain Nick Montgomery joined the Central Coast Mariners in 2012 from English side Sheffield United. A tough, no-nonsense midfielder, Montgomery took over the armband from John Hutchinson in 2015 and is only the fourth player to lead the yellow and navy full time. ‘Monty’ made his name at Sheffield United, where he made more than 350 competitive appearances for the Blades from 2000 to 2012, including a season in the English Premier League in 2006/07.
