Central Coast Mariners Youth have succumbed to Sydney FC Youth in a crazy eight-goal affair at Lambert Park that ended 5-3.

Despite bagging the opening goal and clawing back a two-goal deficit, the Central Coast Mariners Youth have fallen to the top of the table Sydney.

The Yellow & Navy kicked of proceedings courtesy off an impressive goal to Nick Fitzgerald but unfortunately for the away side, the junior Sky Blues struck in quick succession just before half time through Robert Stalbolziev & Ali Abbas.

The Mini Mariners did a superb job to restore parity in the second half through Anthony Kalik in the 64th minute and a spot kick to Glen Trifiro just six minutes later but it was Sydney FC who closed out the match with two late goals in the final 10 minutes of play.

Full focus for Joe Haywood’s side now turns to Saturday January 16, which is the final Foxtel National Youth League fixture of the campaign that will see the Mariners play the Newcastle Jets at Tuggerah.
