The Central Coast Mariners are set to face Wellington Phoenix at Knox Grammar on Saturday September 17 at 3:00pm in a pre-season friendly.

The pre-season clash will be the first local opportunity for Mariners’ fans to see Paul Okon’s team in action against a Hyundai A-League opponent.

Located at Wahroonga which is less than an hour’s drive from the Central Coast Mariners Centre of Excellence, Members and fans will be treated to some pre-season football action against Ernie Merrick’s Wellington Phoenix.

The match will have some added bite with current Central Coast Mariners and former Wellington Phoenix players Blake Powell and Kwabena Appiah set to face off against their old club for the first time.

The last time the Central Coast Mariners visited Knox Grammar was in 2012 where the Yellow & Navy played a pre-season fixture against Ange Postecoglou’s Melbourne Victory.

Patrick Zwaanswijk & Archie Thompson were the goal scorers that day in a match that ended 1-1 in front of approximately 2000 people.
