IT has been another busy week on the Coast getting ready for the upcoming season but a lot has been happening around the Club.

Captain Alex Wilkinson has been transferred to Korean Club Jeonbuk Motors and he will be sadly missed as he was one of our original squad members. ‘Wilko- has been brilliant on and off the field in the last seven seasons. It is a great opportunity for him and the Mariners have never stood in any player-s way when looking to further their career. We wish him all the best in the next step in his life.
We are supporting Daffodil Day again with the Cancer Council and Tomas Rogic, John Hutchinson and myself are Ambassadors for this great cause on the Coast. We will be down at The Haven, Terrigal on Monday morning for the Daffodil Day media launch. Daffodil Day will be held on Friday 24 August.
We have announced our 2012 Fan Forum for Monday 6 August at Mingara. We have had great feedback from the fans and hopefully we have a great turnout so people can find out more about what-s happening at the Club. Chairman Peter Turnbull, Director Bob Graham, and Graham Arnold will be on the panel as well as a senior player, and I will be Master of Ceremonies on the night. If you can make it down it would be great to see you there. The night kicks off at 6:30pm.
This morning I went down to Lisarow Primary School to speak at the school assembly with Adam Kwasnik and Brad Porter. Student Noah Pagden has been selected in the NSW Primary team, so we headed along to speak to the kids and congratulate Noah on his great achievement.
The Mariners squad was out at Berkeley Vale and Wyong junior football clubs last week doing the Ausgrid Club Nights. As usual the feedback was brilliant from both clubs. Unfortunately we have had a few Ausgrid Club Nights cancelled due to the weather but hopefully we can reschedule those clubs in again soon.
We have our 2012 Corporate Cup this coming Friday afternoon at Soccer5s. 20 of our sponsors will be playing off to become Corporate Cup Champions! I am sure there will be a few weekend warriors out there and I am sure a few hamstrings will never be the same after they play a minimum of three games each. The full Mariners squad will be there and each of the players will be the coach of a team. If you are looking for some entertainment please feel welcome to drop in at Soccer5s on Friday afternoon between 1pm and 5pm.
Finally, we are also having a Membership Drive on Saturday afternoon at Westfield Tuggerah, with half of the squad in Centre Court between 12pm and 2pm. Come along and say hello and if you have not bought your season ticket. We are making a big push to get 5,000 Members this season so get behind the Club. Together we can make it a massive season for the Mariners!
