FFA Centre of Excellence 1 (Hope 81’) Central Coast Mariners Youth 4 (Kalik 8’, Buhagiar 28’ & 50’ & Duncan 62’)
Central Coast Mariners Youth have racked up another convincing result, with 4-0 win over the FFA Centre of Excellence. Coastie, Trent Buhagiar was the star bagging two goals and an assist in Canberra.
Anthony Kalik & Marcus Duncan also featured on the scoresheet with impressive long-range strikes at the Australian Institute of Sport. Anthony Kalik looked to kick proceedings off nice and early in the nation’s capital with a cracking strike in the eight minute to provide the opener! His strike from the top of the box slammed off the crossbar and in.
Twenty minutes later it was Buhagiar who doubled the lead. The Central Coast junior controlled a long ball with a superb touch and slotted home with composure.
Despite bagging a goal Buhagiar wasn’t done, he doubled his tally five minutes into the second half thanks to a great ball from Josh Forbes.
Buhagiar then turned creator and cut back to Marcus Duncan after the FFA COE failed to clear a corner, Duncan drilled home through a crowded box.
The FFA COE bagged an equaliser in the 81st minute through Joshua Hope but it was too little too late for the home side in the nation’s Capital. Full attention now turns to the New Year when Central Coast Mariners Youth take on Sydney FC at Lambert Park on January 3.
