Football Federation Australia has confirmed the Central Coast Mariners National Youth League semi final against Gold Coast United will take place this Saturday, 13 March at Pluim Park, Lisarow. Kick-off will be at 4:00pm ADST.
The Mariners finished the National Youth League season as Premiers, finishing with 44 points, one clear of second placed Perth Glory, and enter the finals series on the back of a scoreless draw with Sydney FC in the final round.
Over 700 fans flocked to Pluim Park to support the side in their final regular season match of the season, and Mariners members and supporters are urged to show their support again this weekend.
“We-ve had great support all year from the local fans both at Bluetongue Stadium and at Pluim. The boys are desperate to qualify for the Grand Final with a win on Saturday, and they-d love nothing more than doing it in front of a huge home crowd,” said Mariners National Youth League head coach Tony Walmsley.
The winner of Saturday-s semi final will qualify for the 2009/10 National Youth League Grand final, where they would take on the winner of the other semi final between Perth Glory and Adelaide United, on the same day as the Hyundai A-League Grand Final, in a double header at Melbourne-s Etihad Stadium on Saturday, 20 March.
