Wayne O’Sullivan’s Central Coast Mariners’ Foxtel National Youth League team have defeated the Western Sydney Wanderers Youth 3-2 away from home on Saturday evening.
Goals to Josh Nisbet, Peter Kekeris and substitute Matias Paz were enough to cancel out two Wanderers goals at Popondetta Park.

The Mariners struck first and took the lead thanks to a goal by Josh Nisbet in the 16th minute. The lead lasted 10 minutes before Wanderers’ Mohamed Adam levelled proceedings with a strike from distance.
After causing havoc for the Wanderers’ back four on numerous occasions, winger Peter Kekeris earned the lead back for the Mariners with a goal of his own to make It 2-1 10 minutes before the half time break.
In the 7nd minute, Mohamed Adam then turned from goal scorer to creator, setting up Samuel Silvera who made it 2-2.

But the winner would come from a substitute for the Mariners in Matias Paz who was injected in the 64th minute. The strong striker made his mark on the match in the 82nd minute, bagging the winner!
The Central Coast Mariners Youth team are in action at home on Saturday January 13 against Canberra United at the Mariners Centre of Excellence. Kick-off is 10:30am and entry is FREE!
