After a last start draw against Newcastle Jets, Central Coast Mariners will return to Gosford-s Bluetongue Stadium this Sunday 10 November when they challenge Brisbane Roar in Hyundai A-League 2013/14 round 5. Kick-off is at 5:00pm.
After donning pink kits and making a vibrant, visual statement in support of Pink Ribbon Day and women-s cancer research, prevention and support services at their last home game against Adelaide, the Mariners will this week pay tribute to the local Rural Fire Service (RFS).
Free tickets will be distributed this week to enable RFS employees and volunteers to enjoy the Mariners- clash with Mike Mulvey-s men at Gosford-s idyllic bayside arena. Moreover, fans from the Club-s active supporters base, the Yellow Army, will be assisting the Club by collecting donations in and around Bluetongue Stadium to help raise money for our local RFS heroes.
The match between Central Coast and Brisbane may also mark the return of Daniel McBreen to the Mariners- matchday squad. McBreen, who was the Hyundai A-League-s top scorer last season, returned to the Club on the weekend following a successful loan spell with Shanghai SIPG in the Chinese Super League.
While the availability of McBreen ought to add strength to Central Coast-s attack, the Mariners will have to take on Roar minus New Zealand FIFA World Cup hopefuls Michael McGlinchey and Storm Roux. McGlinchey and Roux have both been selected for the All Whites- two-legged play-off against Mexico, with the aggregate winner securing a spot at Brazil 2014. McGlinchey and Roux will depart Australia later this week ahead of the first leg against Miguel Herrera-s men at the Estadio Azteca on Wednesday 13 November.
