Mariners to play Wrexham AFC in Winter friendly (April fools)

Central Coast Mariners are excited to announce that we will play Wrexham AFC at Our Paradise in July, before the Welsh club’s match against Manchester United in San Diego.

The world’s third oldest club will travel down under, alongside their Hollywood owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney.

Currently in the fifth tier of English football, Wrexham sit second in the National League. The Welsh side are battling for promotion, aiming to be an EFL League Two side by the time they play in Gosford.

Deadpool star and Wrexham part owner Ryan Reynolds is pleased to be able to bring his side to the Central Coast before heading to the United States.

“When I most recently visited Australia, I was told about the Central Coast Mariners and was intrigued. Palm trees, sauce bottles and Marvin, from then I knew that I wanted to organise this match,” he said.

“What better place for Wrexham to stop through before our historic game against Manchester United than the beautiful Central Coast. I cannot wait to see the palm trees and sauce bottles in person, I’ve heard they are spectacular.”

The match will take place at Industree Group Stadium on Monday, July 17th
