Mariners support RSPCA Cupcake Day

The Central Coast Mariners have teamed up with Official Charity Partner, RSPCA for a ‘sweet opportunity’ to raise money for animals in need. RSPCA’s annual Cupcake Day is happening at Tuggerah this Saturday.

Cupcake Day is the sweetest opportunity to get together and raise money for animals in need! This Saturday from 9am (until the cupcakes last), people are encouraged to stop by Tuggerah’s RSPCA Care Centre to pick up a Cupcake and consider providing a ‘fur-ever home’ to an animal in need.

Mariners players Jordan Murray, Abraham Majok and Mario Shabow visited the RSPCA Care Centre at Tuggerah this week and delivered some cupcakes for the staff to enjoy – whilst meeting some animals looking for their fur-ever homes!

Aside from visiting the RSPCA on Saturday, the RSPCA are calling on people to host a morning tea to raise much needed funds, to ensure they can continue to provide care, shelter and medical treatment for animals in need.

Louise Bromley (RSPCA Care Centre Manager), thanked the Central Coast Mariners for their support and called on everyone to stop by on Saturday for a cupcake.

“It is fantastic to once again have the Central Coast Mariners on board to help raise awareness and reach out to the community for support of the RSPCA,” Bromley said. “RSPCA’s Cupcake Day is a fun and delicious day to raise funds for animals in need. We are baking up a storm of yummy treats for our in-centre event on Saturday 17 August, including pup-cakes for your dogs! Come along to the RSPCA Care Centre on Saturday and say hello to some of our animals who are up for adoption,” Bromley said.

Central Coast Mariners striker Jordan Murray spoke of his emotional connection to RSPCA and the importance of their service.

“I’ve seen first-hand the great work that RSPCA undertake in our community and I am so proud to play for a club that supports such worthwhile initiatives,” Murray said. “My dog Chevvy is a boxer that we adopted from the RSPCA six years ago and we couldn’t imagine life without him.

“From the minute we saw Chevvy, we knew that he was the dog for us, so I couldn’t recommend a trip to the RSPCA highly enough. Even if you aren’t in a position to provide a ‘fur-ever home’ you can pay a visit this Saturday and enjoy one of their cupcakes,” Murray said.
