The Central Coast Mariners are pleased to announce the signing of Jack Warshawsky, with the goalkeeper to join the club at the beginning of the 2023/24 season on a two-year deal.
As Australia’s current under 20’s first choice goalkeeper, the youngster travelled earlier this year over to Uzbekistan to play in the AFC U20 Asian Cup. Warshawsky signs for the Mariners after a spell at Western Sydney Wanderers as their first choice NPL goalkeeper.
One of the most talented young goalkeepers in the country, Warshawsky is a brilliant shot-stopper with strong ball distribution skills.
The 18-year-old is one of a number of exciting goalkeepers to have joined the club since the signing of Miguel Miranda as the Mariners goalkeeping coach at the start of the season.
Miranda had a spell with Sporting Lisbon before arriving on the Central Coast, having coached the likes of Jan Oblak and Ederson during his career.
The signing of Warshawsky continues to demonstrate the Mariners approach of signing promising young talent, with head coach Nick Montgomery excited to have the Young Socceroo joining the Central Coast.
“Jack is a goalkeeper who we have been tracking for a while and we acted early to secure his services for next season,” Montgomery said.
“We believe that he joins a group of very talented young goalkeepers including Under 17’s national team captain Anthony Pavlesic. It is an exciting time for the club.”
