The Central Coast Mariners are pleased to announce the signing of midfielder Tiarna Karambasis for the upcoming A-League Women’s season.
The 23-year-old joins the Mariners from Lions FC in the Queensland NPL Women’s competition, having been a part of the club for a number of seasons.
The midfielder had yet another stand out campaign this year for the Queensland team, playing 26 matches and scoring three goals as Lions ran out as Premiers of the First-Grade competition.
The 23-year-old now joins the Central Coast Mariners for her first A-League Women’s season, getting rewarded for her consistent effort in NPL with an A-League contract.
An athletic and composed footballer, Karambasis adds further depth to the squad as we return to the A-League Women’s competition.
Central Coast Mariners Head Coach Emily Husband is pleased to have secured the signature of the midfielder, as she begins to put the finishing touches on the squad.
“I am very happy to have been able to sign Tiarna ahead of the upcoming season. She is an extremely calm and composed player who brings many individual qualities with her. She is a fantastic addition to the overall squad,” Husband said.
“Getting your first A-League Women’s contract is a special moment for a player. It was really nice to be able to give Tiarna this opportunity, and it highlights the quality that is in NPL competitions right now.”
Karambasis is thrilled to be joining the Yellow and Navy ahead of the upcoming season, eager to begin her journey as an A-League Women’s player.
“I am super excited to be joining the Mariners ahead of the upcoming season. This club coming back into the A-League Women’s competition means a lot to the Central Coast region, and I am excited to be a part of this season,” she said.
“Seeing the success that the Mariners have had in the men’s space fills me with excitement for the women’s team. Off the back of the World Cup and the excitement around women’s football, it is the perfect time to bring in a team and I can’t wait to play a role in the Mariners A-League Women’s journey.”
