The Central Coast Mariners are delighted to announce that 16-year-old Joeys forward Logan Sambrook has joined the club on a scholarship deal until at least the end of the 2025/26 season.
Arriving on the Coast from Coffs Harbour, Sambrook joins the Mariners after an incredible 2024 which included a first call-up for the Australian Under 17’s squad.
A hugely successful 2024 National Championships with Northern NSW Football saw the 16-year-old catch the eye of National Team selectors, with Sambrook named in the Joeys squad for the PacificAus Sports Football Tour.
On this trip, the Australian squad took on both the Solomon Islands U19’s and Vanuatu U19’s, with Sambrook scoring his first junior national team goal against Vanuatu in their final match of the tour.
One of the best young players in Australia, the 16-year-old now arrives on the Coast ready to continue to take his football to the next level, making the step into a professional set up for the first time in his young career.
“I am so excited to be joining the Mariners, it has been a dream of mine since I was a kid and to now be with the club is incredible. I can’t wait to work with Jacko and the amazing coaching staff, I know that I am going to learn so much from them to help me continue to grow as a player,” Sambrook said.
“I’ve always loved the Mariners since I first started watching football. Seeing incredible players come to the club, learn and develop before continuing to progress in their career is a huge motivation for me. The culture and community is so strong on the Coast, I can’t wait to be a part of it.”
Central Coast Mariners Isuzu UTE A-League Head Coach Mark Jackson is thrilled to have secured the signature of the exciting 16-year-old.
“We are really excited to be able to sign a young attacking player with such high potential. Logan is someone who is extremely sought after in Australian football, with multiple clubs vying for his signature, so we are delighted to be able to have him join us on the Coast,” Jackson said.
“He is a talented young footballer with huge potential who is well recognised in the Australian Junior National Team set up and we look forward to working with him to continue to help him unlock that potential.”
