Mariners prepare to kick off NPL NSW Season tonight in Manly

The 2025 Central Coast Mariners Academy season is upon us, with our Men’s First Grade and Under 20’s kicking off their campaign tonight at 7:30pm against Manly United at Cromer Park.

With 30 regular season rounds coming up against some of the best teams outside of the A-League in Australia, find out below how we secured our place in NPL NSW this season, how 2025 is shaping up and our squad for this campaign.

All Mariners NPL Men’s games for 2025 can be watched live and free on the Football NSW YouTube account, including tonight’s match which can be accessed HERE.

2024 NPL NSW Play-offs

After missing out on automatic safety by just one point in the 2024 NPL NSW season, our position in the 2025 edition of NPL NSW came down to a play-off series against Bulls FC Academy. Played across two legs, the first match was away to the Bulls, finishing 2-1 to the home side.

With a result needed on a cold Friday night at Pluim Park, our young Mariners were up to the task, dispatching Bulls FC 4-0 to win 5-2 on aggregate and ensure our place in the top flight of Football NSW competition for another year.

Nico Duarte was the hero on the night, scoring two penalties in the 7th and 55th minutes, while Niyonkuru and Brandtmam also got on the scoresheet.

2025 Mariners NPL NSW Season Preview

It promises to be another exciting season of Mariners Men’s Academy action, with tonight’s match against Manly, managed by Mariners legend Patrick Zwaanswijk, kicking off a 30-round NPL NSW campaign.

Lucas Vilela is at the helm again after helping to guide us to safety last season, while our squad is filled with a number of exciting young talent.

The likes of Haine Eames, Bailey Brandtman and Arthur De Lima, who have all received substantial minutes this Isuzu UTE A-League season, have been named in our NPL squad, alongside recent A-League debutant Lucas Scicluna.

Scholars Logan Sambrook and Jai Ajanovic have also been included, as well as young defender Michael Paragalli, who was an unused substitute in our recent away game in Wellington. Goalkeepers Adam Pavlesic and Jack Warshawsky will also be available to play.

Make sure to be at Pluim Park next Sunday at 5pm for our first home match of the season, as we take on league powerhouse APIA Leichhardt at 5pm.
