Central Coast Mariners Owner, Mike Charlesworth has been working closely with DSG to build a community to increase the talent pool of esports football players under the Mariners banner and is excited by what the future holds in the esports landscape.
“Last season the E-League was a pivotal success,” Charlesworth said. “It engaged millions of spectators across the globe and we need to capitalise on this and see what else we can do.
“In partnership with Digital Sports Group, we’re increasing the Australian esports talent pool by producing more competition and attracting more competitors and we’re passionate to lead the way in this space,” Charlesworth said.

Digital Sports Group is an Australian owned esports organisation with a mantra to create esports for all. Their aim is to increase the talent pool of esports by providing clear pathways from couch to pro whilst providing an opportunity for people to play competitively and make money from their hobby.
DSG’s Managing Director and Founder, Jon Rowe spoke about the growth in esports and is committed to helping the Central Coast Mariners become an industry leader.
“The Mariners came to us with a very clear direction to grow their supporter base via the vehicle of esports,” Rowe said. “We are excited to partner with them to manage the cross over from traditional sports into esports.
“Esports is a US$900M industry growing at a rate of 38% year-on-year. E-Football is the next great frontier of esports and our collective goal is to make esports accessible to people from all walks of life.” Rowe said.
