Alen Stajcic has named his extended squad for Friday night’s clash with Sydney FC as the squad navigates a short turnaround following Tuesday’s loss to the Wanderers.
The Mariners full contingent of foreign players are available, with Michal Janota and Stefan Jankovic promoted to the squad after watching their new teammates from the stands at Central Coast Stadium on Tuesday.
Stajcic’s group have had just two full days between games, and the mantra will have been as much about recovery as preparing for battle again as they face off against last year’s Champions.
The short turnaround is not new to Stajcic’s men, with a similar timeframe separating the first two matches of the season against the Jets and Macarthur, with the team’s fitness on show in the second game of that stanza.
