The Central Coast Mariners will travel to Sydney breathing fire when they come out against Sydney FC for the second time in less than a month this Saturday at Allianz Stadium.
One man who is looking to set the score on Saturday night is Travis Major, the imposing striker scored his first Hyundai A-League goal in their clash against the Skye Blues at Central Coast Stadium on January 24.
Major also experienced his first full 90 minutes for the yellow and navy in the club’s AFC Champions League qualifying play-off against Guangzhou R&F on Tuesday night.
“Ever since I’ve come in, Mossy and the coaching staff have showed confidence in me and to get a start the other night against such a quality team was a big learning curve and something I’ll take a lot from.
After banging home his maiden Hyundai A-League goal against Graham Arnold’s men in their last encounter, Major is hoping to feature on the scoresheet this weekend.
“It would be nice if I could repeat that, our last match against Sydney was only a few weeks ago that we took a lot of lessons from. Hopefully we can learn quickly and put in a positive performance.
“We’ve got a bit of unfinished business and we’ve got the quality to do a much better job than last time so hopefully we can get the three points this week,” Major said.
