Kaltak handed one match suspension after unsuccessful appeal

Central Coast Mariners defender Brian Kaltak has been given a one match suspension by the Match Review Panel for his red card against Sydney FC on Saturday afternoon.

Kaltak was shown a straight red card in the 25th minute after he was deemed to have denied Max Burgess an obvious goal-scoring opportunity.

After the club appealed the decision, the defender was still given a week suspension as there was deemed to be no obvious error in the decision-making process around the incident. There is no further appeal process.

Kaltak will miss our upcoming match against Brisbane Roar, and will be eligible to play against Perth Glory on Saturday, February 18th.
