AUSTRALIA-S Prime Minister Julia Gillard took time out of her busy schedule in China on Tuesday to wish the team well before their AFC Champions League Matchday 4 clash with Guizhou Renhe in Guiyang.
Knowing Gillard was in China, Central Coast Mariners General Manager – Football, Lawrie McKinna, made an approach through Federal Member for Robertson, Deborah O-Neill, for Gillard to attend tonight-s game.
Unfortunately, due to her extensive commitments in China, Gillard could not attend the fixture.
However, the PM did kindly take the opportunity to call McKinna and leave a voice message expressing her support of the Hyundai A-League-s only Club representing Australia in this year-s version of Asia-s premier club competition.
