The Central Coast Mariners are extremely pleased to announce the re-signing of Jing Reec on a one year loan deal until the end of the 2023/24 A-League Men’s season.
The Mariners Academy graduate joins from Aarhus GF in Denmark, with the young forward being another valuable addition to our front line.
Reec initially signed for the Mariners in 2021, having previously featured in NSW NPL first grade for Marconi Stallions.
Following a trial with the Academy under the guidance of Nick Montgomery, he signed a scholarship agreement with the Mariners thanks to the TAG Foundation.
The striker played one game for the Mariners during the 2020/21 season, featuring for 18 minutes off the bench against Western United in a 2-0 home win.
After interest was shown abroad, Reec joined Danish giants Aarhus GF on a five-year deal, moving to Denmark to start his European football career.
He played 31 matches for the clubs under 19’s side in the U19 Boys League, scoring 10 goals. His goalscoring form continued in the reserves team, finding the back of the net twice in eight matches across the Future Cup and the Reserveligaen Spring.
Reec also made his first team debut off the bench in the 21/22 Danish Cup, coming on as a substitute as AGF defeated Boldklubben Frem 3-0 in the third round.
During the first day of Reec’s second pre-season with AGF, the forward fractured his metatarsal on his right foot, which saw him miss five months of action. Reec is now fit and firing, ready to find his best form in the A-League Men’s competition under Montgomery and Raimundo.
Central Coast Mariners Head Coach Nick Montgomery is pleased to have the forward return to the Mariners, having worked closely with him during his previous stint at the club.
“Jing will add real power and presence to our young squad. He is a young player that Sergio and I signed at NPL level and his form saw him make his A-League debut and catch the eye of AGF,” Montgomery said.
“To bring him back on loan will help him continue his journey and development, with both the Mariners and AGF to benefit in the future.”
Reec is extremely excited to be back with the Mariners, ready to help the side have a successful upcoming campaign.
“I’m buzzing to be back with the boys. The season that just past for the Mariners, as well as the fans, players and their families was so special. For me to be given the chance to come back is something that I am very excited about and very proud of. I love the culture of the Mariners as a club, I love the fans and the fighting spirit that the team shows,” Reec said.
“I want to thank Monty and Serge for helping me out in my career so much. It’s now two times that they have brought me to the club, first in 2021 when I joined the academy and now bringing me back this season. I can’t wait to get started.”
