The Central Coast Mariners can unfortunately confirm that Ash Irwin has suffered an ACL Injury, which will keep the defender sidelined for an extended period of time.
Occurring in the 34th minute of our game against Perth Glory, the defender was immediately substituted off, with scans revealing the serious extent of the injury.
Arriving on the Coast at the beginning of last season, Irwin has been a stalwart at the back ever since.
Having missed just one game over the past two seasons before this injury, the 24-year-old has helped us to the second-best defensive record in the competition since we returned.
A fan favourite, Ash will now immediately begin her journey back to the field with the help of our medical staff.
