In our Hyundai A-League countdown series, we look at the men who make up the Central Coast Mariners squad… from player number 23, down to player number 1. Today, we focus on Qantas Olyroos captain, Oliver Bozanic.
11. Oliver Bozanic
At just 22, Oliver Bozanic has already achieved a lot in his football career.
The current captain of the Qantas Olyroos, Bozanic spent three years in England before returning to the Central Coast Mariners for season six of the Hyundai A-League. A versatile player with an accurate passing game, Bozanic can play in the centre of midfield or be utilised on the left flank.
With the 2012 Olympics on the horizon, Bozanic has his sights firmly set on a strong Hyundai A-League campaign with the Mariners before leading Australia on the international stage.
Without doubt, the former Reading FC player is one of Australia-s brightest young talents. With a determined attitude, silky skills and fantastic crossing ability, it-s with reason the midfield starlet was included in Holger Osieck-s preliminary Qantas Socceroos squad for the 2011 Asian Cup held in Qatar.
