And, after an overwhelming response to the competition that evidently captured the imagination of the Central Coast community, the field has been narrowed to a final four.
Harry Attewell from Bensville, Harry MacDougall from Lisarow, Harry Payne from Tascott, and Harry Gordon from Epping will vie for the title of “Our Harry” on the Bluetongue Stadium surface before the Mariners battled Melbourne.
The ultimate winner – and the person who nominated him – will get to sit pitch side (next to the players- bench) on Saturday, decked in Mariners attire.
“Our Harry” profiles:
Harry Attewell – Bensville
Harry Attewell from Bensville was nominated by Greg Attewell. A Kincumber Roos player, Harry Attewell-s favourite shirt is his yellow Mariners tee! According to Greg, he hardly ever takes it off!
Harry Attewell also gives back to local community. With his school (Central Coast Christian School), Harry is involved in numerous local activities and their overseas sponsorship program for children, for which he raises money.
Harry MacDougall – Lisarow
Harry MacDougall from Lisarow was nominated by Chris Bowden from Davistown. According to Chris, Harry MacDougall is an integral part of the Yellow Army, always signing for the team with pride from Bay 16 during home games, and at most away games. An ever-present at Mariners matches, Harry MacDougall has never once missed a Mariners home game since the Hyundai A-League-s inception. He has converted many of his friends to football, and they are now hooked on the beautiful game, too!
Through his hard work creating Mariners banners, signs and tifo – which is featured on TV – Chris believes Harry MacDougall has shown his local pride to the rest of Australia.
Harry Payne – Tascott
Harry Payne from Tascott was nominated in the “Our Harry” competition by Andrew Payne. According to Andrew, Harry Payne talks football 24/7. According to Andrew, Harry Payne never misses a Mariners game!
Harry Gordon – Epping
Harry Gordon from Epping was nominated by Mark Gordon. Harry Gordon lived in Abu Dhabi in for a few years, and it was there that he became a massive English Premier League fan. When he moved to Australia, Harry Gordon chose to follow the Mariners in the Hyundai A-League because they offer a more exciting style of play, and because he loves the picturesque setting of Bluetongue Stadium.
Harry Gordon can always be found donning his Mariners shirt on matchday!
