The Central Coast Mariners are pleased to confirm the completion of two important agreements that further strengthen the Club’s long-term stability.
Holman Barnes Group (HBG) has formally joined the ownership structure as a minority investor in the entity responsible for the Mariners’ A-League Men’s and Academy operations.
The Club can also confirm that the long-form agreement for HBG to assume operational responsibility for the Central Coast Mariners’ A-League Women’s team has now been executed.
The completion of these arrangements provides greater certainty across the Club and reflects a shared commitment to the sustainable growth of the A-League Mariners Men’s, Women’s and Academy programs.
The Club look forward to working closely with HBG to strengthen football pathways and deliver positive outcomes for the Central Coast community, both on and off the pitch.
Central Coast Mariners FC Chairman and Owner Ruben Gnanalingam added: “It is with great pleasure that we announce the formalisation of our partnership with HBG. These guys are a smart, sport-focused, local organisation and who we believe will demonstrate have the nous and relationships to help maximise the chances of CCM having success on all fronts.”
Holman Barnes Group CEO Daniel Paton said, “We’re incredibly proud to officially become part of the Mariners’ family. We’ve always believed in the power of sport to bring communities together and create opportunities, and we see enormous potential in what we can achieve together across the men’s, women’s and Academy programs.
“This is an exciting next chapter for Holman Barnes Group and for our long-standing relationship with APIA Leichhardt. We now have a genuine pathway that can take a young player from grassroots football through to the NPL with a clear path to the A-League and now on to the international stage. We are looking forward to working with the Mariners to build on this pathway for years to come.”
APL CEO, Steve Rosich said: “This innovative structure, that brings together global football expertise and local experience, ensures the long-term sustainability of the Club, and further strengthens the pathway opportunity for the many thousands of aspirational athletes on the Central Coast.”
Holman Barnes Group is currently the only entity to have an equity ownership in both an NRL licence and an A-League licence.
