The Central Coast Mariners Youth have fallen at the hands of Western Sydney Youth despite goals to Trent Buhagiar and Adam Berry at Marconi Stadium in Round 2 of the Foxtel National Youth League.
Lachlan Scott bagged an early opener for Western Sydney Wanderers Youth, the young attacker followed up the spoils from a Golgol Mebrahtu shot in the 2nd minute of play.
20 minutes later, Scott was again the danger man, laying off a pass to Mario Shabow who made no mistake with the close range finish.
The goal wouldn’t deter a travelling Central Coast Mariners Youth who struck just minutes later through Trent Buhagiar to bring the game back into contention for the Yellow & Navy.
The away team came out flying in the second half and it was the former Leeds Academy Player, Adam Berry who finished in stunning fashion to equalise in the 48th minute. His strike pounded off the bottom of the crossbar just minutes into the second half.
The goals continued to flow at Marconi Stadium and the Wanderers took the lead through Tariq Maia in the 58th minute. Scott produced a powerful shot that Heward-Belle deflected but Maia was there to follow up from close range.
Some late drama saw Keanu Baccus pick up a red card in stoppage time, the Mariners also came close to levelling with just seconds remaining but the Wanderers’ custodian held three points for the home team
