YOUNGSTER James Oates will wear the number 22 kit for the Central Coast Mariners this Hyundai A-League campaign.
The 2012/13 season will be Oates- first as a professional after he proved his quality by captaining the Central Coast Mariners to the National Youth League glory last season.
Despite the massive transition from NYL to A-League, Oates has proven he is up to the challenge. Indeed, throughout the pre-season Oates has dominated many of the Mariners physical tests.
Oates believes hard work is the perfect way to prepare himself for life in the A-League, and show his dedication to the team.
The youngster is hoping to have an injury free season to give himself the best opportunity to develop as a player and to possibly make his Hyundai A-League debut for the yellow and navy.
Oates is grateful he is working under Coach Graham Arnold and has a great role model in teammate Pedj Bojic.
“Pedj is one of the best backs in the league, and I have a lot to learn from him.”
If Oates continues to train hard and learn from the experienced players around him he will undoubtedly reach his full potential.
